Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XV Goes Gold, New Omen Trailer Released

By Keith MitchellOctober 27, 2016

For a title that was considered vaporware for a large portion of its development cycle, it definitely feels good to report that Final Fantasy XV has gone gold. This was officially announced on Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XV Twitter page, while Director Hajime Tabata revealed the physical discs for both Xbox One and PlayStation in hand.

In addition to the game going gold, Hajime Tabata went on to mention that the PlayStation 4 Pro version of the title will be even more beautiful, compared to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. He didn’t give any examples, however, so we’ll just have to wait until release day to find out for ourselves.

Final Fantasy is set to be released on November 29, 2016, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Can you believe that this is actually happening, after all, these years? Lastly, be sure to check out our hands-on impressions of Final Fantasy XV from the 2016 New York Comic Con (here).

That’s not all that was announce today either, as a new Final Fantasy themed trailer was released also. The Omen cinematic trailer, while doesn’t tie in directly into the game, was released by the same studio that worked on the KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV film – DIGIC Pictures. In this trailer, we see Noctis as he encounters wave after wave of enemies (Horde mode?), while he slowly loses his abilities and starts to fall into madness. Apparently, this is exactly the future that King Regis was hoping to avoid, during the film.  Looks great and fans of KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV are in for a treat.
