Gwent the Witcher Card Game Trademarked

By Cody MaynardJune 8, 2016

According to this post on Nerdleaks, CD Projekt Red has trademarked Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. According to the post, it has been “filed with class 9 and 41 (video games, software etc.),” so it looks like it will be a digital standalone game, and not a physical tabletop card game (which would be kind of cool). Here is the logo in all its glory.

Gwent

Since CD Projekt Red has said that they will be showing off something at E3 that is, sadly, not Cyberpunk 2077, it’s likely that they will reveal this, but I’m not sure that it will make a big splash. Playing Gwent is admittedly not my favorite part of The Witcher 3. Also, is Gwent deep enough to stand up against the current lineup of online collectible card games like Hearthstone, and the upcoming Elder Scrolls: Legends? Let us know what you think in the comments.
