Anime Fighting Game Koihime Enbu Is Degica Games Surprise Title

By Keith MitchellApril 25, 2016

Prior to PAX East, Degica Games had been teasing a new title that would be unveiled during PAX East. All that was known about the title was that it was going to be a fighting game but nothing more. Thankfully not only were we able to see the game in action but we also got some hands-on as well as commentary with Degica Games staffer, Jessie, during PAX East 2016.

Koihime Enbu, which is the name of the new fighting game, is an anime fighter that was actually released by Sega during 2014. The title was released on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, but only in Japan. However thanks to Degica Games, Koihime Enbu is now being ported over to the PC via Steam and is slated for a May 2016 release.

Based on the Koihime Musou visual novel, Koihime Enbu features a reimagining of the Romance of Three Kingdoms where the majority of characters are girls. Originally an arcade fighting game, Koihime Enbu draws upon this pedigree to offer players accessible and exciting mechanics that will draw in beginner and veteran players alike.

Fighting game veterans will relish the tight controls and fast combat, providing the possibility of huge combos and devastating counters. Explore the Fatal Counter system that creates additional combo opportunities. With almost every attack being punishable, Koihime Enbu strives to provide a cleaner and more precise fighting experience.

Features

  • Play as 13 different characters and 7 “assist” characters to create a huge variety of strategies!
  • Old school footsies-based 2D fighting game!
  • Explore the Fatal Counter system which gives moves different properties that make comboing easier, and longer!
  • Utilise the Tactics Meter with special moves, ex special moves, super moves, and ultimate moves!
  • Save your best bouts for later, or learn from your previous battles with Replay ModeAscend the online rankings by battling in ranked matchmaking, keep it closer to home and play with your friends in local versus mode!

As of today, the game is now listed on Steam. There’s no price for the game just yet nor is there any recommended system requirements, but from what we learned during PAX East 2016, the requirements aren’t too hefty.

We’ll be back later with a bonus match where we’ll have a member of The Outerhaven square off against someone from Degica Games.
