Gameklip: Helping Android gamers everywhere get their game on

By Keith MitchellAugust 2, 2012

If you’ve been following us for some time you know that I love gaming on the Android platform and no it’s not cause you can pirate games (Piracy is bad, m’kay) but due to; 1. I’m 100% against Apple and their practices and 2 I like to go against the grain. So it’s no surprise that when I found out about the Gameklip that I jumped at the chance to get one.

The Gameklip is a new take on a simple idea and one that’s done well. Made out of strong ABS plastic, the Gameklip snaps onto a Sony Dualshock 3 controller and allows you attach your Android smartphone to the controller.  Each Gameklip is last cut therefore it’s a perfect fit between the smartphone and controller.

Keep in mind that this is only a method to attach the two so you still require a way to sync the controller to the smartphone, such as the available Sixaxis app (Your device must be rooted to use this).  However the creator of the Gameklip also thought of that and has two versions available; Wired ($23) and Wireless / Bluetooth ($15).  Currently the Gameklip only supports the following;

  • Samsung Galaxy SIII (All versions)
  • Samsung SII (Epic 4g Touch)
  • Samsung SII (Skyrocket)
  • Galaxy Nexus (HSPA+, LTE)
  • Galaxy Note
  • HTC Evo 4g
  • HTC One X (All versions)

So for $15 or $23 (plus $4 for shipping) you can turn your smartphone into a gaming device on the go! Time to load up on games and go to down on that long Airplane, Train or Bus ride.

And yes, he is working on a verison of Gameklip for tablets!
