UPDATED: Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Now Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

By Clinton Bowman-ChristieFebruary 2, 2016

UPDATE: A Microsoft Spokesperson responded to our inquiry with the following statement:

“We’re thrilled with the response we’ve had with the launch of Xbox One Backward Compatibility. We’re continuing to work with our publishing partners to deliver as many Xbox 360 titles on Xbox One as possible. We’re constantly listening to fans on Xbox Feedback and encourage them to vote for which titles they want to see added to our Xbox One Backward Compatibility library. We have nothing else to share at this time.”

Original story is below:

Happy February, fight fans!

Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to see that one of my favorite games, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, is part of the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program.

Mad Catz’ own Mark “Markman” Julio posted himself downloading the game onto his Xbox One about 4 hours ago, and fight fans seemed to be pleased about this development.

As of the writing of this article, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 isn’t available on my personal Xbox One, but if this post is any indication, it should make its way to Xbox One consoles worldwide sometime within the next few days, especially after people were able to access the title early on the console, and the loophole was indeed closed.

We have reached out to Microsoft for more information on this story.
