New info on Capcom’s Umbrella Corps and release date

By Keith MitchellJanuary 26, 2016

Finally, some news on the upcoming first person shooter set in the Resident Evil Universe. Umbrella Corps, the upcoming title for the PlayStation 4 and PC will be released sometime in May 2016 for $29.99 And while we don’t known the exact date  just yet, we do have more info on what we can expect from the title.

Co-op will be handled via a 1-6 players (on-line) and will feature a number of modes that are catered towards creating competitive team battles and a single player mode called “The Experiment” which will challenge players to define their skills as they get cozy with the world of Umbrella Corps. Going further, this mode is unique as it will place the player in a horde-like mode, removes their precious Zombie Jammer, the device that stops the zombies from finding you, and puts you head to head against them. I don’t know about you, but I love horde modes in games, so this should be right up my alley.

Umbrella Corps will feature adrenaline-fueled matches in familiar locales from various Resident Evil games. In addition to the previously announced Umbrella Laboratory map, players will be able to experience areas inspired by Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. The famed Village from RE4 has been retooled for heated multiplayer matches that escalate to the rooftops while the Tricell organization from RE5 has a newly imagined HQ to explore. Players must not only face off against the rival mercenary team, but also the stage-specific threats such as the crazed Ganados (RE4) and blood-thirsty Cerberus dogs (RE5).

More information on additional maps and modes are still to come.

Both versions will be digital download only and will be priced at $29.99.
