Lovely Planet Arcade teased by tinyBuild, more to come at PAX South

By Keith MitchellJanuary 14, 2016

Lovely Planet, a wondrous yet wacky first person shooter by Tiny Build was easily one of my favorite FPS games to come out in a while. It was colorful, it was full of happy go lucky, as well as a catchy soundtrack, but still required you to be on your game when it came out to taking out enemies and reaching your goals. And now it looks like we’ll be be able to revisit that world with the follow-up, Lovely Planet Arcade.

Teased by tinyBuild, Lovely Planet Arcade, take us back to Lovely Planet however with some slight changes. This time around there will be no jumping allowed, nor will you be able to look up or down. They stated that this time around they’ve taken Lovel Planet and turned it old-school, just remember how Doom or Wolfenstein originally were and you’ll get the idea.

Yeah, that’s what I said. The first game was so much fun as you had some much freedom but now tinyBuild has gone and taken that away, so how’s that going to work? Well apparently they have a plan but won’t let us in just yet, since they’re waiting to let that surprise out during the upcoming 2016 PAX South event, where they’ll be holding a large-scale play-test of Lovely Planet Arcade.

“Relive your journey to Lovely Planet in this brand new adventure packed with impossible tests of skill and patience. Craft intricate combos to unfold the complex puzzle of flying projectiles and moving targets into a graceful sequence of well timed shots and jumps. Enjoy shooting baddies, jumping over obstacles and teleporting around bullets while trading with milliseconds.

  • The original First Person Shooter experience, a game of jumping and shooting
  • Test your skills with a hundred plus levels to solve over four unique worlds
  • Push yourself further with unlockable modifiers, play any level in Mirror or Fast mode
  • Collect evidence and uncover the mysteries of the Arcade
  • Craft your own obstacle course with the in-built Level editor and share it with your friends
  • Original soundtrack by Calum Bowen “

And for those who can’t make it out to PAX South, not to worry as the title will be released via Steam sometime during Summer 2016. Argh, Summer 2016??? Hey tinyBuild, you better be bringing this to PAX East 2016 as well!
