STEINS;GATE Rebroadcast Unveils New Story Route

By Josh PiedraDecember 2, 2015
Steins;Gate

Thursday night in Japan saw the re-airing of Steins;Gate‘s 23rd episode.  The series is currently in the middle of a full rebroadcast, but what caught people’s eye was that there was new footage that lead to a new story route during the episode.  Further proof of an alternate ending was had when the trailer for the upcoming Steins;Gate 0 visual novel aired and it touted a future where “he gave up on saving her (Kurisu Makise).”

Steins;Gate 0 will be available for the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita systems and is slated to ship on December 10, 2015 in Japan.  Steins;Gate 0 has also been green-lit for an anime, but an air date has not been decided as of yet.  The original Steins;Gate visual novel, which launched in 2009, is available on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan and an official English translated version is available for PC.  Steins;Gate has also spawned a 24-episode anime series, a movie, and numerous OVAs.  The anime and film have been licensed for North American distribution by FUNimation.
