Hatsune Miku is touring North America in 2016

By Adriel RangelNovember 11, 2015

By now, near every fan of anime and Japanese culture knows the name Hatsune Miku. For those not in the know, Miku is an avatar from the Japanese music production suite known as Vocaloid, wherein music is synthesized and sung by an animated avatar; however, the character’s popularity skyrocketed and has taken on a life of its own, bringing a line of video games as well as performing live via hologram.

Now, the digital diva will be touring North America with Miku Expo 2016, with announced dates for Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Toronto and New York. Is the power of otakus in the west enough to make it a success alone? Or will the holographic superstar start a new trend western in live performance?

Adriel has been an avid lover of games and anime for near all his life. Hailing from Chicago where he is currently pursuing a degree in game design, he greatly prides himself on using both his gained knowledge from his schooling as well as his life-long experience as a gamer to analyze and express his love for games. As far as Anime goes, he likes all sorts, but loves dramatic action; his favorites being Fist of The North Star and JoJo's Bizarre adventure. Fun Fact: Adriel's favorite genres of games are Fighting games and Shooters, but his love for his reckless playstyle keep him from achieving greatness.
