Uh Oh, Deus EX: Mankind Divided set to run at a locked 30 fps on consoles

By Keith MitchellNovember 3, 2015

Looks like there’s some bad news coming out of the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided camp, and sadly it involves the frame that the game will run out. Thanks to a tweet from Eidos Montreal’s Executive Game Directior, Jean-Francois Dugas, he has confirmed that the title will run at a locked 30 FPS.  Yes folks, I’m pretty sure no one asked for this!

I have to say that’s pretty disappointing news for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, especially since it was expected that they’d run it at 1080@60 fps or perhaps even 900@60 fps. However for the PC gaming camp, there is a light and end of the tunnel as Jean-Francois has also confirmed that this only applies to the console versions. The PC version will not be affected and will not be locked at 30 fps.

Yes, 30. https://t.co/FEQeA7t0UY

It’s also worth noting that Eidos will not be handling the PC port, as responsibilities for that was handled over to Nixxes, the same company that ported Tomb Raider to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is set to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 23, 2016.
