Uncharted Collection Install Is How Big?

By Jason KwasnickiSeptember 24, 2015

According to Playstation Universe, the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will be 44.46 GB when installed from the disc. In an era when our hard drive space is a crucial resource, as games continue to explode in size, “ouch” would seem to be the appropriate response. In comparison, The Last Of US Remastered had an install size of 50 GB, and that was for one game. So, there is a brighter side to the story if your willing to find it, but I think the bottom line is that games are getting too big for discs (which is ironic, as the format is what allowed them to grow in the first place). The obvious solution: bring back the cartridge! Forgive me, that’s a topic for another day.

Any true Sony Pony knows, though, that this is but a small price to pay for a legendary trio of games. In reality, it is almost surprising that three modern games were able to fit in that space. Keep in mind, multiplayer functionality has been removed, but reworked textures and the bump to 1080p /60fps tends to eat through storage, especially on games that barely fit on their Blu-ray discs to begin with. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some kind of Day-One patch.

If you’re not a true Sony Pony, and if you haven’t played any of these games how dare you call yourself one, keep an eye out for a demo that will be hitting the Playstation Network next week on September 29th. Players will be able to run through the “Warzone” chapter of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves with all of the perks associated with, well, better HD consoles.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will be hitting stores and PSN (pray it doesn’t crash) on October 9th.

Born and raised in the New York area, currently kicking it in Queens, and keeping an ear to the grindstone in this crazy world of internet media hustling. Having attended the George Washington University with a Degree in History, I'm sometimes inclined to use big words unnecessarily. While I typically play a lot of RPGs, I tend to like any game that is fun. My PSN ID is NY-Miller, so hit me up if you ever want to kill some Wizards on the Moon in Destiny.
