A sample of lovely tunes from R RACING EVOLUTION Direct Audio – “Show the World”

While Namco’s attempt to create a racing game similar to Gran Turismo but with a story wasn’t the best, it did feature some really good music. Case in point, this lovely track, Show The World (Full), composed by Yu Miyake, who’s worked on other Namco projects and most recently “Persona 4: Dancing All Night”. You’ll hear this track during the advertisement of the game and later on again at the end, it’s been a while but I believe during the ending credits.

This and the rest of the tunes for R Racing Evolution can be found on the release of the soundtrack “R RACING EVOLUTION Direct Audio“, which was released during 2014 and a full 11 years after the original game was released. The soundtrack includes 2 discs and 17 tracks:

Disc 1:
1. SHOW THE WORLD (SHORT VERSION)
2. SELECT SCREEN1
3. SELECT SCREEN2
4. DEEP RESONANCE
5. LIQUID SOUL
6. MARS LANDING
7. DIVAS
8. FUNK-A-TRONIC
9. RISING

Disc 2:
1. T MINUS TEN
2. MONTE CARLO
3. CARMINE
4. BOOMBOX
5. TIME COMPRESSION
6. SCENE 15 BGM
7. COLLECTION
8. SHOW THE WORLD

And if you’re looking to see what the game was all about, it was released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and Gamecube and there’s bound to be some copies of the title out there, somewhere. Sadly I don’t think we’ll get anymore music from the Ridge Racer series or another title for that matter from Namco, after both Ridge Racer: UNbounded and Ridge Racer: Dystopia (Yuck) crashed and burned… for good reason.

There’s always memories, well that and some kick ass music from late great series.
