Stephen Amell Sets His Sights on WWE’s Stardust at SummerSlam in Brooklyn

By Clinton Bowman-ChristieAugust 10, 2015

Just announced on Monday Night Raw by WWE COO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, Stephen Amell of Arrow fame will be participating in a tag team match at WWE SummerSlam on August 23rd at the Barclays Center. Amell will be teaming with WWE Superstar Neville (Benjamin Satterly) to face the pair of Stardust (Cody Runnels) and King Bad News Barrett (Stuart Bennett) after an altercation took place between Amell and Stardust earlier in the night.

The video of the match confirmation is below, courtesy of WWE on Facebook:

This whole program started just over a month ago, when Amell was a guest of WWE’s and Stardust called him out to be a guest on a future episode of Raw. Amell and Stardust, after a series of back-and-forth tweets, agreed to meet up for what would ultimately be a confrontation at tonight’s show.

Editor’s Note: This is the first time that WWE has had SummerSlam at the Barclays Center, and also this is a 4-hour show now, living up to its name of the ‘WrestleMania of the Summer.’ To be fair, what a way to capitalize on your ability to draw eyes by getting one of the biggest stars to come out of the DC camp in ages. Stephen Amell won’t be doing much in the ring, but the idea of a possible altercation between Green Arrow and Stardust has my interest piqued.
