Why Persona 5 Wasn’t at E3

By Keith MitchellJune 21, 2015
Persona 5

With the Final Fantasy 7 remake and Nier announcements, it has been a pretty good E3 for JRPG fans. However, one game was conspicuously absent from the festivities: Persona 5.

Considering the massive amounts of Persona 5 paraphernalia at the Atlus booth, it’s difficult to imagine the game wasn’t there. Despite all the Persona 5 branding, the only sign of the game itself was a single roped-off TV playing a recent trailer on repeat. While Persona 4: Dancing All Night made a brief appearance in Sony’s press conference, Persona 5 was no where to be seen.

When asked about the lack of Persona 5, Atlus PR Manager John Hadrin had this to say:

We have to treat it with delicacy and care. No one likes to be spoiled, and especially not with a title of this magnitude. We just don’t have anything ready.

Hardin, along with the official Persona 5 website, have confirmed the game is still slated for a 2015 release in North America. But with the company concerned about spoiler, it is unlikely we’ll see much of the game until it’s ready for launch.

Persona 5 will be available for PS3 and PS4. There is still no information regarding a European release of the game.
