Konami officially suspends Kojima Station upcoming broadcast

By Keith MitchellMarch 25, 2015

In the ever growing evidence that Hideo Kojima is actually parting ways with Konami, it seems that Konami has now suspended the Kojima Station from broadcasting its recent show. For those are aren’t familiar with the show, Kojima Station was (is) a video webcast from Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions. Basically it was a live look at on-going production that the team was working on as well as acting as connection to the gaming community.  And while the site used public services such as Youtube, Ustream and Twitch to put those videos out, the website is owned and hosted by Konami.

No reasoning for why this broadcast has been delayed, however according the the Japanese Konami Twitter account, the company apologizes for suspending the upcoming broadcast and will provide an update on the future of the broadcast (And perhaps Kojima Station). Siting the on-going issues between Konami and Kojima, it’s not outrageous to think that this might be the end of the line for the Kojima Station, at least in it’s current form.

Still no official word as to what has caused the rift between Konami and long time developer Hideo Kojima, however it is excepted that once development wraps up for Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain is completed that Kojima and crew will no longer be associated with Konami.

Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain is set for a worldwide release date on September 11 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, while PC release date is set shortly (hopefully) after, however there is currently no release date listed for the title on Steam.
