Axiom Verge set to be released for PlayStation 4 on March 31st

By Keith MitchellFebruary 23, 2015
Axiom Verge - Elsenova

Axiom Verge, definitely one of the games I’ve been following and playing whenever I go to the local Bestbuy, finally has a release date. Tom Happ, the sole developer of the Mertroidvania title, has announced that Axiom Verge will be releasing on March 31st for the PlayStation 4 for $19.99. Furthermore, Tom goes on to explain that the PlayStation 4 version of the title is complete and has passed certification, so it’s just waiting on the green light to be released. Sadly the PS Vita version is still in development as there are tools that still under construction which is delaying it’s release. However Tom has also mentioned that Axiom Verge will feature cross-buy, so you if pick it up for the PS4, you’ll be able to also get the PS Vita version as soon as it’s completed.

Still no word on the eventual PC release but seeing how the PS4 release is right around the corner, I may have to break down and get the PS4 version…. and then the PC version. Ain’t no shame on double-dipping.

Tom has also stated that Axiom Verge will also include new powerups such as a new weapon called the Nova, the Drill and the Disruptor. There are more powerups to find but Tom said he’ll leave finding those up to the gamers. Can’t wait to find them myself.

Axiom Verge will also be on display at the upcoming PAX East 2015, hopefully we can score some hands on with the new build and let everyone else know how it plays. Fingers crossed!

So hang tight people, your wait (and mine) is almost over! Just wish a time machine exist, you know so I can get my hands on the game even faster.
