Bandai Namco set to release Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden for the 3DS

By Keith MitchellFebruary 23, 2015

Oh man, I don’t believe this is actually happening! A new 2D Dragon Ball Z game will be gracing the Nintendo 3DS screens and it’s been a long time coming, there hasn’t been a official 2D DBZ game in quite some time.. Titled Dragon Ball Z: Super Extreme Butouden, Bandai Namco will be reviving the Dragon Ball Z: Butouden series with this new entry in the series.

Being developed by Arc Systems for the Nintendo 3DS, this new version of Dragon Ball Z will feature over 100 playable characters, including iconic characters that DBZ fans have come to know and love. An official website has been created and you should head over there for more info on the title – official website. I wish this was also for consoles but I’m sure we’ll take what we can get, right folks?

Worried about your favorite DBZ moves to not be included? Well don’t, this game is going to be authentic and if you don’t belive me, check out the pics below.

Making his appearance as Future Trunks hell feature his Future Super Saiyan form and will resort to moves such as Buster Flash and Buster Cannon

Goku the center of universe when it comes to DBZ will have access to signature moves such as the Kaio ken Kamehameha Spirit Bombs and will fit in as the all around character

Gohan who will appear as a teenage in this title will feature plenty of dash based attacks which will be useful for getting in close to pummel his opponents Not one to be flashy and utilize combos like the other characters Gohan will have access to his Masenko and Explosive Madan similar to DBZ Raging Blast

Ah Vegeta The proud Saiyan with the chip on his shoulder will also be appearing in Extreme Armed with his Final Flash and Gallick GUn expect to see plenty of wicked and damaging combos from him

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden will be released sometime this summer in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS (old & new), no mention if Bandai Namco will be bringing ths title to the North American market. I wouldn’t worry to much though, DBZ is one of the bigger anime’s in the North American market, so I would expect to see something about this sooner than later.
