By Keith MitchellFebruary 18, 2015

PDP has recently announced that their Mortal Kombat X Wired Fight Pads for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, will be available as of April 1 2015. Officially licensed by Warner Bros, the fight pads were designed from the ground up for optimal gameplay with Mortal Kombat X. Each fight pad features a 6 button arcade-style layout,a precise D-pad and a ergonomic grip for optimal hand positioning for gameplay.

Also confirmed directly from PDP, the Xbox One/Xbox 360 version will also work for the PC as well. So if you like your fighting games on the PC, then make sure you pick one up.

If you’re interestest in picking up one or two of these controllers, you can do so right now by heading over to Gamestop  or Amazon. They are currently up for preorder and will set you back $49.99 per fight pad.

The Mortal Kombat X fight pads originally surfaced during the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show and were criticized due to the lack of a secondary analog stick.

Official press release is below.

PDP Mortal Kombat X Press Release:

PDP is proud to announce the release of Mortal Kombat X Wired Fight Pads available in two versions—one compatible with Xbox One/Xbox 360/PC and one for PlayStation 4/PlayStation 3 systems.

The innovative multi-compatible Mortal Kombat X Wired Fight Pads are officially-licensed by Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment America, and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The unique platform selection switch allows gamers to use one controller for Xbox One/Xbox 360/PC and one for the PlayStation 4/PlayStation 3 systems.

Designed to optimize gameplay for Mortal Kombat X, the upcoming game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the controllers feature a 6 button arcade-style layout and a precision D-pad for optimal hand positioning. All 6 face buttons utilize micro-switches, giving the player tactile and audible feedback – perfect for quick, flawless combos. The low-profile system buttons make the controllers ideal for fighting games by reducing accidental game interruptions.

The launch of the Mortal Kombat X Wired Fight Pads will align with the April 14 release of the Mortal Kombat X game for a suggested retail price of $49.99, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon and GameStop.
