More fixes for Assassin’s Creed Unity

Ubisoft has rolled out a new patch for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One version of Assassin’s Creed Unity. Various in-game fixes have been made, and both the Assassin’s Creed Initiates website and the Assassin’s Creed Unity companion app (iOS/Android) are no longer a requirement to fully enjoy the game’s contents.

Assassin’s Creed Unity allows players to dress the game’s protagonist, Arno Dorian in the garbs of previous assassins Altair, Ezio, Connor, Edward, and even the Assassin turned Templar, Shay. While this isn’t a new concept at all, these types of outfit unlocks were previously tied in with Ubisoft’s UPlay initative which rewarded players after specific milestones in-game. Unlike its predecessors, Assassin’s Creed Unity was the first current-gen exclusive (Playstation 4, XBox One) and restricted many unlockables and features behind the Unity companion app and the Initiates website. Players without supported iOS or Android devices for the companion apps were both devastated and angered by the new approach. Those who did have compatible devices eventually raised their pitchforks too as both  the Unity companion app and Initiates website crashed regularly, with the latter being taken down for maintenance around Christmas 2014 and staying down for close to 2 months.

Players are welcome to use the Assassin’s Creed Unity companion app or the Initiates site, but there are no longer consequences for those that cannot or don’t wish to.

With the latest patch, fans of the beloved series should see better stability for French Revolution based Assassin’s title. PC related fixes will be coming tomorrow. For complete patch notes, visit the Ubisoft forum.
