Resident Evil HD Remaster is Capcom’s fastest selling digital title in North America

By Keith MitchellFebruary 9, 2015

Looks like Capcom’s recent digital title, Resident Evil HD Remaster, is the company’s fastest selling digital title of all time, at least in the North American and European markets. Good job there, Capcom. Speaking of which,I wonder what the previously top selling digital title was. Anyone care to take a guess at it?

The critically acclaimed survival horror masterpiece continues to garner high praise in its recent remastered version. Originally released in 1996, Resident Evil was then “remade” in 2002 from the ground up. Both fans of the franchise who want a trip down memory lane and those who have yet to experience the game that coined the term survival horror for the gaming world will appreciate this definitive re-visit of that iconic 2002 Resident Evil title. The new remastered version includes various updates including visuals, sound, new Very Easy Mode, and options for control and aspect ratio.

Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, a producer at Capcom, thoughts on Resident Evil HD Remaster;

“It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have enjoyed this new release. The team here at Capcom Japan have worked hard to bring the game to the latest generation of consoles and we are thrilled at this news on its performance.”

I have to agree with him, Resident Evil HD Remaster , has been in my gaming rotation since it was released and was reviewed highly from The Outerhaven. If you haven’t picked up this title title but love survival horror games, then you own it to yourself to visit or revisit the originator of the genre.

Resident Evil HD Remaster is currently available for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. Surprisingly the remastered version of Resident Evil Remake will not make an appearance on Nintendo’s Wii U.
