Return to Raccoon City in Resident Evil Requiem. While the city got destroyed years ago, Leon S. Kennedy comes back to settle a score. Along the way, he stops into his old haunt, the Raccoon Police Station. And while the bomb may have destroyed much of the building, it didn’t destroy Barry Burton’s scavenger hunt left for Raccoon Police Department members. As Leon, you can pick up where they left off. But if you need some hints, here’s a guide to help you out.
It should go without saying that there are some spoilers here. While this guide won’t spoil any plot points, it will of course spoil the puzzle. That said, I will break it up into sections by the two scavenger hunt photos. So if you want help with just finding the photos or with one photo and not the other, read each section individually. Happy hunting!
Finding the Photos to Kick Off Barry’s Scavenger Hunt
First, to begin Barry’s scavenger hunt you’ll want to find the S.T.A.R.S. Office. Resident Evil 2 players will likely know the location immediately. But for those new to the series or who need a refresher, you may find the S.T.A.R.S. Office on the second floor of the Raccoon Police Station. You’ll reach the station naturally as part of the campaign.
Once you enter the station, head into the doors on the left and through the West Office. When you reach a hallway, take out the zombie there and then shoot the ladder in Reception. Head up the ladder to enter the Lounge and then head down the hallway here and to the right to find the S.T.A.R.S. Office. You’ll find both photos for Barry’s scavenger hunt here.
Solving the First Clue of Barry’s Scavenger Hunt
You’ll find one photo for Barry’s scavenger hunt in a cabinet and the other in a jacket. For now, I’ll just tell you how to solve for the first clue. The first photo will depict a room with a chalkboard, a plant, a flag, and a TV. Keep reading to find out where this room is located.
Want some help? This room is in fact the Operations Room. The room looks a bit different, as the wall has gotten blasted out. For example, the plant has long-since died. But there is a chalkboard here. You may search this room to find a key to a locker.
Solving the Second Clue of Barry’s Scavenger Hunt
The second picture of Barry’s scavenger hunt depicts exactly where to find the key. It’s pretty zoomed in. But you can see the American flag just below the location. Therefore, we’re looking for the TV! Incredible that the bomb did not jostle the key even slightly from its perch on the ledge. But hey, I won’t argue if it means some free gear.
While the TV is mounted from the ceiling, you can have Leon reach it by climbing onto the crate in the room. You should see the option to take the key almost immediately. If you don’t, move a little closer to the TV.
Now that you have the key, head into the West Office to claim your prize from the soon-to-be-unlocked locker. Congratulations, you’re now a master of unlocking! I’ll tell you what you get in the next section in case you’d like to keep it a surprise for now.
Resident Evil Requiem Rewards Your Search
Ready to hear the prize that Barry Burton has bestowed upon you? You get… tickets to the Raccoon City Zoo! Yay! What’s that? They’re probably expired? And the animals in the zoo are either dead or mutated into gargantuan sizes? Ah well, don’t say Barry never got you anything!
But if you’d like a more relevant prize, the locker also includes a S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm. You may equip this charm onto any automatic gun. It will grant that weapon increased firepower at the cost of more sway while aiming. More firepower is always good to have. And if you have confidence in your aim, the sway shouldn’t bother you too much.
