Absolum Threads of Fate Update Arrives This February 2026

By Keith MitchellJanuary 27, 2026
Absolum - Threads of Fate update

It wasn’t that long ago that Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Supamonk thanked the Absolum community while announcing plans for an upcoming update called Threads of Fate. Now we finally know when that update is arriving, as the official Absolum Twitter account has mentioned Threads of Fate launches on February 12, 2026, which is just a couple of weeks away.

Over 500,000 Rebels have joined the resistance in Talamh!

From the high enchantress Uchawi and the whole Absolum team — thank you! ✨

As previously mentioned, the update will introduce a wide range of additions to the game, including new challenges, an evolving world, new and upgraded mounts, and expanded character customization. There is also hope that even more surprises are waiting that have not yet been revealed.

Alongside the release date announcement, it was revealed that more than 500,000 players have played Absolum. While some might see that number as underwhelming, it is important to keep a few things in mind. Beat ’em ups are still a niche genre, and despite their recent resurgence, they face heavy competition from more mainstream genres. On top of that, Absolum is a brand-new IP without the name recognition of series like Streets of Rage 4 or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Even now, I still run into people who have no idea what I’m talking about when I mention Absolum. That honestly stings, because it is one of the better beat ’em ups we’ve had in quite some time. Still, it is great to see that Dotemu has not given up on its first original entry in the genre, and I am looking forward to jumping back in for another 40+ hours to experience everything this update has to offer.

If you’re a fan of beat ’em ups and you haven’t played Absolum, I implore you to at the very least, try the demo. It might make you change your mind. Or better yet, read our Absolum review. It just might make you a believer.
