“Punghyanggo,” a popular variety show featuring an impromptu trip with A-list celebrities including Yu Jae-seok, will return for its second season on Jan. 24. It is a spin-off of “Pinggyego,” a talk show hosted by Yu that recently opened its global fan community on Berriz. Following the premiere of “Punghyanggo 2,” fans will be able to gather on Berriz and enjoy a range of behind-the-scenes content, further enhancing their viewing experience.

“Punghyanggo 2” is set in Austria with actor Lee Sung-min newly joining Yu Jae-seok, Ji Suk-jin and Yang Se-chan. It follows a “No-App, Yes-Crisis” concept, which prohibits the cast from using apps during their itinerary. Without prior planning or reservations, they must make decisions on the spot and go with the flow of fate amid unexpected situations. The upcoming installment will be unveiled on YouTube first, and then air on television via the channel ENA. It will consist of five episodes, in addition to a pre-meeting video featuring the cast.
Returning after more than a year, “Punghyanggo 2” is expected to deliver even more laughter through its distinctive format and witty banter. The four episodes of the first season, set in Vietnam, amassed a whopping 44 million views on YouTube and swept multiple awards, including Variety Show of the Year at the prestigious Baeksang Awards. These feats have positioned “Punghyanggo” as a trailblazer for long-form content in an era dominated by short videos, proving that length is no barrier when content is compelling.
The original talk show “Pinggyego” is a project by Kakao Entertainment’s music label Antenna. It launched its variety show studio, Antenna Plus, and started the YouTube channel DdeunDdeun to present trendsetting features like “Pinggyego.” Defying the norms of Korean YouTube content, “Pinggyego” has resonated strongly with audiences by offering a cozy escape, with its slow pace and long format functioning as competitive advantages. “Punghyanggo” is one of its major spin-off ventures.
“Pinggyego” recently opened its Berriz fan community, offering the sole official communication channel for its supporters worldwide. Since its launch, the “Pinggyego” community has provided the production team’s exclusive behind-the-scenes notes and photos, allowing fans to engage more deeply with the show’s creative process and untold stories. Fans can also share their own self-edited images and clips of their favorite moments, as well as offer ideas to the cast member. Most recently, the “Pinggyego” universe has been further broadened with a pre-meeting video, which prompted fans to connect and actively buzz about the show on Berriz before its premiere.
