Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Season 2 Trailer Has AI and People Don’t Like it

By Kevin KellyJanuary 15, 2026
Fatal Fury City of the wolves

What does Geese Howard, buildings, and a couple of other things have in common? Sadly, a lot to do with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. While the trailer answers the questions of what’s happening in Season 2 of the game, the reactions to the trailer have been less than pleasant. AI seems to have plagued the trailer in the form of the art for certain aspects such as Geese himself.

It's so fu*king hard to be a SNK fan nowadays man.
I just wanna play the game and recommend it to others in good conscience. WHY ARE THEY MAKING IT SO HARD TO DO IT?!

The whole marketing division needs to be FIRED NOW! pic.twitter.com/BF8rIOfrwj

Six characters to boot, being one per month, is incredible for a fighting game DLC run. However, thanks to the power AI, anything is possible. Especially ruining a moment of hype. Instead of the artwork and polish that SNK was known for, they turned to generic runs of the characters, backdrops and the like, mixed in with official gameplay. The gameplay itself did have some amazing nods to character moves. Jae Hoon sharing his dad’s technique during the Fatal Fury Motion Picture was one of them.

⚡ The legend reaches the next stage ⚡

Season 2 launches January 22, with a new character arriving each month for six months.

Some twitter folks were able to get a bit more creative such as J_bogard’s cut. He’s right, though: less is always more.

Others were creative to a point, though.

SNK has yet to make a comment on the accusations as of yet while many are citing that this is SNK at its’ worst since the buyout. Some of SNK’s choices do feel as though there are some influences that don’t need to be there. Ronaldo and Salvatore as main roster adds for launch was one of them. The company had dark days in the past. If it’s that bad, why not just do full live action commercials again? those were hits.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is now available on PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and Epic Games. The Winter Sale has the game now at 67% off.
