There’s just a month to go until REANIMAL, the spiritual successor to Little Nightmares, arrives. In the meantime, players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC have been able to check out a demo for it. And now, Nintendo Switch 2 owners may give the co-op horror game a try too. It is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop.
The horror adventure game may be played by one or two players. Either way, players will navigate an eerie world as tiny characters who have to solve puzzles and sneak by enemies to survive. Tarsier Studios, the developer of Little Nightmares I and II, have familiarity with this formula.
Now, you may wonder, why isn’t this a Little Nightmares game? This is because the series passed to Supermassive Games, who developed Little Nightmares III. Funnily enough, that entry introduced two-player co-op to the horror series. So it looks like Tarsier and THQ Nordic have decided to take a stab at it as well.
But while REANIMAL has more than a few stylistic and gameplay similarities to Little Nightmares, it will arrive as its own game. It won’t feature Six (the raincoat wearing sometimes-protagonist) or the locations from her games. It seems to focus a bit more on horror, as the Tarsier promises a “more terrifying journey” than that of its prior series. But we’ll find out for sure when the game arrives in a few weeks.
REANIMAL releases on Friday, February 13th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.
