The countdown continues to roll, and with each tick of the clock, Avengers: Doomsday gets ever closer to release in theaters. Marvel has been building the hype up for the film by dropping one teaser after another to showcase who will be in the special film. First, there was Steve Rogers. Second was Thor. Last week, we got a look at the X-Men. Today, Marvel Entertainment dropped the newest trailer, with a focus on Shuri and the nation of Wakanda.
In it, we see the new Black Panther alongside the new King of Wakanda, M’Baku, as they travel through the desert to go meet with someone. Along the way, we get glimpses of Namor and his people, who clearly will have a big role to play in fighting off Doctor Doom and his forces.
So, who did Shuri and M’Baku meet? Well…
Yep! It’s The Thing! There have been numerous teasers about the Fantastic Four ever since Thunderbolts had its stinger showing off a ship bearing their symbol. Then at the end of First Steps (read my review!), we saw Franklin Richards interact with Doctor Doom in the FF’s home universe.
We still don’t know how/why the Fantastic Four crossover into the main universe of the MCU, but this teaser may indicate that it’s them who bring everyone together to fight off Doom.
We’ll find out when Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18th.
