Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Teases Fist of the North Star Collaboration

By Kevin KellyJanuary 13, 2026
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves might get a visitor from somewhere else

SNK has released a trailer in the same vein and style as the other trailers from Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. This time, it seems to be hinting for something huge to come to the game.

With Art of Fighting characters teased, and former Fatal Fury 2 boss Krauser potentially coming back, all bets seem to be off.

A boot that resembles the main character, Kenshiro, from the anime is seen facing the South Town area.Β  Two characters that resemble one from the Fatal Fury manga, and Marco Rodriguez’s pupil are cornered by two thugs. The two thugs seem to look similar to two background characters in the first game. Then, the first figure touches one of the thugs and the screen goes blank with the head touch. The move does feel similar to Kenshiro’s one hit touch move. SNK just shrugs for the title.

The second season DLC starts this month, so the speculation could be tied to that. Also, Fist of The North Star’s PS2 Arc Systems Works fighter is also making a run for Evo Japan this year as a competitive title, so there could be a potential port for current current or last gen port to help with training.

The game has yet to see the light of day for quite some time. Arc System Works have put out classic Guilty Gear ports to even the Switch, so this could be a possibility. As to why Kenshiro would appear in South Town or even in this non-post apocolyptic era remains to be seen.

The 2nd Hint For Kenshiro

More fuel to the fire was a tweet from SNK Vice President Yasuyuki Oda. The reference, “Tough Boy”, is the intro to Fist of The North Star’s anime sung by TOMCAT. His tweet today might have solidified the collaboration hope. Also, there is a newΒ Fist of the North StarΒ anime incoming this year.

Personally, I’d want at least the menacing members of theΒ Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture,Β including Laucorn as guests to start since they’re linked directly to the title, but this could be big.Β Street Fighter VI’sΒ Ken and Chun-Li were hits for their Season 1 run.

Fatal Fury: City of the WolvesΒ is now available on PlayStation 4 | 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC through Steam and Epic Games. The Winter Sale is now 67% off.
