2026 is a “make or break” year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sure, they arguably have the biggest “lock” of the year with Avengers: Endgame, especially with the hype that is being drummed up via its teasers so far, but there has to be more than just that film to make the MCU successful again. 2025 did not go as planned on many fronts, and that included the rollout of certain shows on Disney+. 2026 will actually start out with one such streaming project via Wonder Man, and its new trailer shows a struggle beyond just “getting the part.”
The show itself is about Simon Williams, a struggling actor who sees the potential to finally break through via a “legendary director” who seeks to battle “superhero fatigue” by doing a reboot of a previously beloved character named Wonder Man. Simon NEEDS this role, but he has one big problem…he has superpowers…and he can’t tell that to anyone on set.
The trailer itself showcases the many struggles of Simon and those around him, and things get “musical” in funny ways:
He was born to play this role, but the spotlight reveals everything. #WonderMan, an 8-episode series, premieres January 27 at 6PM PT only on @DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/zhN1mPye26
