Storytelling comes in many forms, and finding the “right way to tell a story”, is vital for various forms of media, especially things like television series. Primal Season 3 has the incredibly tough task of continuing the visual storytelling epic that was the show’s first two seasons.
Genndy Tartakovsky wove a masterful narrative of the tale of Spear and Fang previously, showing the caveman and dinosaur defying the odds and even gods to survive in a world evolving past them. Yet, in the end, Spear would sacrifice himself to save others he cared about.
And now, in Primal Season 3, Genndy Tartakovsky decided to bring him back as a zombie! We knew this would happen in the teaser trailer for the season, but now, the official season trailer has been unleased and shows that Spear’s struggles go far beyond his “new state of life.”
As you’ll see below, he’ll have to face new cultures, deal with his “undead state” in more ways than one, and then…figure out how to reconnect with an old friend…
The Primal Season 3 premieres on Adult Swim on January 11, 2026!
