Look, it’s never a fun gaming day when you learn that a title you’ve been anticipating is delayed. We all know that the big GTA 6 delay is still being felt by fans, but its ripples may have affected another title, based on a certain update that’s been dropped. Specifically, 007 First Light, the new title from IO Interactive, was supposed to drop in March 2026. The game is set in the time before James Bond was “James Bond” and had his 00 status. IO Interactive aimed to mix action-packed gameplay with stealth elements, and all indications are that the game looks really good.
However, on its official Twitter handle today, the team revealed that they needed an extra few months to get things clamped down:

So, now the new release date for 007 First Light is May 27th, 2026. For those who do not understand how this connects to Rockstar Games, they were going to drop their highly anticipated title on May 26th, before eventually delaying it to November. Thus, IO Interactive likely looked at the gaming release schedule that was now there, saw the chance to “polish things up a bit,” and took the delay route to ensure quality.
Hopefully, it won’t be too long until the next update, and look at the title.
