Turn 10 Studios Officially Shifts to Forza Horizon 6, Announces No More New Content for Forza Motorsport

By Sean GarmerDecember 18, 2025
Forza Horizon 6

In an end of year post on its website celebrating its 2025 community accomplishments for Forza Motorsport, the Turn 10 Studios team stated that its officially making a shift towards supporting development of the recently announced Forza Horizon 6.

As our team shifts its focus toward delivering the best possible experience with Forza Horizon 6 in 2026, we do not plan to introduce new cars, tracks, features, or regular bug fixes for Forza Motorsport. However, we will continue supporting the game by keeping online servers active, hosting special events and competitions, and reintroducing previously released Featured Tours and reward cars on a monthly basis, until all content is available for you to enjoy anytime.

Unveiled during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 digital showcase, Forza Horizon 6 puts the series in Japan for the first time. Providing a highly anticipated setting for casual enjoyers and car enthusiasts alike. Unfortunately, the reveal was simply a title card teaser leaving many drifting into dreamland with expectations of what the new game might bring.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer as Microsoft has not only stated the game is planned to release in 2026 but that the main developer of both Fable and Forza Horizon 6, Playground Games, will be at the January Developer_Direct.

Turn 10 Studios Focuses on Development for Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6

Undoubtedly, Microsoft plans for Forza Horizon 6 to be one of their huge pillars of the coming year. And although this new title won’t initially launch on the platform, the series audience was considerably expanded this year with the launch of Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5 in late April. Making the anticipation for the latest installment even bigger than it would normally be just on Xbox and PC.

Sadly, the Turn 10 team had to celebrate 20th Anniversary of the Forza franchise on a sour note, as earlier in July the team saw a major reduction in its workforce with over 50% of its staff suddenly laid off. Essentially sewing the seeds for them to be in this position eventually.

However, even with that, as outlined in the aforementioned post, they did introduce several new community events, new cars, and featured Tours. The last new additions see the return of the Nemesis Tour, Daily Racers Tour, and Italian Challengers Tour along with fan favorite cars to go along with them as well. So, at least for the next few months players can enjoy these final pieces of content.

On one hand its great to know that Turn 10 will continue working on games, as the expertise of both studios working together will only help make Forza Horizon 6 a phenomenal game, but you also have to feel for the traditional Forza Motorsport fans who may see their preferred version of Forza go an unfortunate hiatus.
