Final Fantasy VII Remake Producer Praises Donkey Kong Bananza

This guy gets it.
By Todd BlackDecember 17, 2025
Donkey Kong Bananza, Nintendo Music,

I’ve been thinking a lot about Donkey Kong Bananza recently, as numerous “Game of the Year” award lists are coming out, and the title from Nintendo is consistently in the top games of those lists, and by the ones I’ve seen, often comes in at No.2. It also only got a single victory at The Game Awards, which I was rather upset with. However, the outpouring of support for the game has come in loud and clear, and that includes getting praise from Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase. He did a special interview with Nintendo Everything about the games he’s really enjoyed on the Switch and Switch 2, and DK’s latest adventure got a lot of praise from him:

“The action of smashing through floors and walls is incredibly satisfying. Many action games up until now have introduced a wide variety of game mechanics, but this kind of action, almost as if it’s a new invention is truly distinctive and the part where you break through floors and walls to progress gives a fantastic sense of exhilaration. It’s a very fun game. Moreover, the act of breaking things creates the feeling that you’ve discovered a unique route only you can find making it even more enjoyable.”

Naturally, I totally agree with these statements, many of which I noted in my review of Donkey Kong Bananza, which I gave a perfect score. The game is truly a joy, and I hope that many of you have enjoyed it as I have, or will try the game out to see what I and others have experienced.

Oh, and don’t worry, if you’re a fan of Final Fantasy VII Remake, the game is dropping on Nintendo Switch 2 in January.
