If you didn’t watch The Game Awards or see our coverage of it, you might not have known that Clair Obscur Expedition 33 downright swept the competition. Seriously, it had nine award victories on the night, not the least of which was the coveted “Game of the Year” award, which many wondered if it would indeed “get them all.” Regardless, the team at Sandfall Interactive was blown away by all the victories, with the team members each giving thanks and honoring others as they do things “For Those That Come After.”
That being said, they’re also doing things for those who are here right NOW, and as such, right after The Game Awards ended, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 had some new content dropped via the “Thank You Update.” In a special press release, the team revealed multiple new things, including a brand new area that comes from the mind of the younger version of Verso:
“A new, playable environment, taking the characters of Expedition 33 to ‘Verso’s Drafts’ – a whimsical storybook adventure with ties to a young Verso. Players will encounter celebratory Gestrals, surprising new locations and an encounter with a sinister, powerful presence… ”
Alongside that will be a new Photo Mode, which, as the trailer below shows, has a great amount of detail for you to fiddle with so you can get the shots you desire.
Oh, and if you want a challenge, they have that in the update, too:
“Challenging boss battles for late-game players to overcome within the Endless Tower. Besting these powerful adversaries will reward players with powerful new Pictos, costumes and gear. “
Add all that to some new languages to hear the game in, plus some new quality-of-life updates, and the title will be more robust than ever! Check out the trailer below:
