Two New Tomb Raider Games Revealed at The Game Awards 2025

Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics revealed during The Game Awards with not one but two major Tomb Raider announcements. Lara Croft is officially stepping back into the spotlight with Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the next big entry in her ongoing saga, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a fully reimagined take on her original adventure.

Tomb Raider: Catalyst is the heavy hitter here. Crystal Dynamics has been working on this one since partnering with Amazon Game Studios in 2022, and it looks to be one of Lara’s most ambitious outings yet. Catalyst sends Lara into Northern India, where the largest world in the franchise awaits. Expect ancient ruins, layered puzzles, lost tombs, and that familiar sense of danger around every corner. The studio is teasing a story built around trust and betrayal, and it sounds like Lara is about to face some of her biggest challenges when the game arrives in 2027.

The second and surprising reveal is Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, is aimed directly at longtime fans. This 2026 release, co-developed in partnership between Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, brings Lara’s 1996 debut adventure back to life with a modern reimagining that still honors what made the original special. Crystal Dynamics says the goal is to capture that sense of wonder and exploration that defined early Tomb Raider while expanding the story and giving players new reasons to rediscover a legend.

Trailers for both games were shown during the event, giving us the first real look at where the franchise is headed. Lara Croft is returning in a big way, and it looks like the next two years are going to be huge for Tomb Raider fans.

Both titles have been confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
