Earth’s Mightiest Heroes officially assemble in Magic on June 26, 2026

Renton, WA – December 9, 2025 – Wizards of the Coast has pulled back the curtain on one of its biggest collaborations ever, giving fans their first glimpse at Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes ahead of its 2026 worldwide release. Shared during a global livestream, the reveal showcased an ambitious crossover set merging two titanic fandoms: the strategic depth of Magic and the iconic characters of the Marvel Universe.

And yes-The Fantastic Four, The Avengers, The Thunderbolts*, Doctor Doom, Hulk, and even Quicksilver are all stepping onto the battlefield.
Magic players might want to start strengthening those card sleeves now.

A Universe-Spanning Crossover

Magic: The Gathering and Marvel have flirted with each other in cross-media projects before, but never like this. This is Magic’s largest Marvel collaboration to date, and the early previews make it clear the design team is leaning fully into the comic-book spectacle.

Wizards showcased several of the set’s standout cards, including:

Captain America, Super-Soldier

The Sentry, Golden Guardian

Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk (a double-faced transformation card, of course)

Quicksilver, Brash Blur

Villains also get their moment in the spotlight, with first looks at:

Doctor Doom

Super-Skrull

Baron Helmut Zemo

If you’ve ever wanted to cast Doctor Doom with a stack of Treasure tokens… 2026 is your year and mine.

Commander Decks: Fantastic Four Lead the Charge

The broadcast also confirmed multiple Commander decks releasing alongside the set – the format practically tailor-made for Marvel-style team-ups.

The first previewed deck stars Marvel’s First Family:

Mr. Fantastic

Invisible Woman

Human Torch

The Thing

Each character can be used as a face commander, a nice touch that lets players tailor their deck around their favorite member of the team.

Expect more deck reveals as we get closer to release.

A Love Letter to Classic Comics

Wizards emphasized that this set isn’t just a mechanical crossover – it’s a stylistic celebration of Marvel’s visual legacy. Several cards feature art inspired by iconic comic book moments, including:

Namor, the Sub-Mariner

World War Hulk

The Coming of Galactus

Bold inkwork, retro color palettes, and panel-style compositions give the set a distinctly Marvel heartbeat while staying true to Magic’s frame and templating.

Release Date & What Comes Next

Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes launches June 26, 2026 worldwide.
Between now and then, players can expect:

Monthly previews

Additional Commander deck reveals

More hero and villain spotlights

A deeper look at the set’s new mechanics

Wizards confirmed that this is only the beginning of their Marvel collaboration, hinting that future sets are already in development.
