Bethesda Announces Elder Scrolls V Skyrim For Nintendo Switch 2

By Todd BlackDecember 9, 2025
Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, Nintendo Switch 2

As someone who has been in the gaming space for a while, I know all about certain “jokes” that we gamers tell to poke fun at a game, a company, or a publisher. I make fun of Microsoft all the time on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast for completely fair and justified reasons. Another classic joke is that when it comes to The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, Bethesda is willing to re-release it repeatedly…because they can…and want to get even more sales off it. Don’t believe me? Today, Bethesda revealed that the game is now on Nintendo Switch 2!

Yes, really, and not only did they make the announcement, but they also went full “Deck The Halls” with it in their reveal trailer…

That was…something, wasn’t it? Jokes aside, The Elder Scrolls Skyrim is one of the best games ever made, and the Nintendo Switch 2 is the hottest console out on the market, so Bethesda putting the game on there isn’t a bad idea. As the launch trailer below notes, the game has been optimized for the Switch 2, and if you have it on the OG Switch (which also came out in that system’s launch year), you can upgrade it for free!

So, if you somehow haven’t played it yet and want it to look its best on your new system, this is the one to pick up, as it has all the content you could ever want, and more.

Now if they could only “fix” Starfield…eh, that’s one “Christmas Miracle” that might be too much to ask…
