In many ways, The Boys is a TV series that shouldn’t have worked as well as it has. It’s an adaptation of a popular, albeit niche, comic series that was put onto Amazon Prime Video that started off as merely a “spoof” of the superhero-driven media culture we still live in…and then turned into a very real look at our world, just through the lens of a superhero-infused society. Next year, the final season of the main show will arrive, and many are anticipating a bloodbath of the highest order. The final season’s first posters seem to be indicating that, too!

Let’s break each down, shall we? The left poster showing Billy Butcher (complete with trust crowbar) in front of a fallen Vought Tower makes it clear his goal for all that’s about to happen. Plus, remember, he’s not in his right mind thanks to the Temp V he had been taking. Then, there’s Homelander, who’s literally “above it all” and is more than happy to watch the world burn beneath his feet…now that he basically rules it.
Many want nothing more than for a final fight between these two to happen so that their pain-driven feud will come to an end in spectacular fashion. Sadly, we do have to wait until 2026 to get that clash and find out who survives in this “new world order.”
