Unlocking the Silver Surfer in Marvel Cosmic Invasion

By Keith MitchellDecember 1, 2025
Marvel Cosmic Invasion - Silver Surfer wants to fight

The guy with the cosmic powers who rides a surfboard is none other than the Silver Surfer, and he’s one powerful guy. And he happens to be included in Marvel Cosmic Invasion as a playable character on the roster, except, just like Venom and Phyla-Vell, you’re going to have to unlock him first.

Here’s how to unlock the Silver Surfer

Unlock the other two characters, the Silver Surfer won’t be accessible until much later in the game and getting access to him is much tougher. You’ll have to process until you get to the Fort Galactus stage. Then, not only will you have to face him, not once but three times, you’ll also have to deal with Galactus in tossing debris at you and sucking up the stage at various points from the background.

The Silver Surfer will appear three times throughout the stage, though the first two times he’s pretty weak and is an annoyance. Playing smart by avoiding his charges will get you past those encounters. On the second encounter, be sure to make use of the mounting gun, it does some decent damage against him.

The 3rd and final encounter is the actual boss fight with the Surfer, and not only is Galactus back, but you’ll also have to content with a powered-up Surfer. Not only is he a bit faster, but he’ll also use with cosmic blasts and hovers around the stage. There’s no character requirement and I’ve found that Beta Ray Bill does some decent damage and can tank it as well.

Once you’ve taken him down, the Silver Surfer will free himself from being possessed and will join your team.
