It’s not hard to see why Nintendo wants to keep using Amiibo for its games. First, they’re a fun little collectible that certain fans will absolutely want to get, which means they’ll pay good money for them. Second, there is a function to them, as each Amiibo grants you special items, cosmetics, or perks within the game that they’re applicable to. In the case of the upcoming Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, three different Amiibo have been released that will indeed let you get some perks in the Switch/Switch 2 title. Today, we finally got to learn what that was.
Nintendo broke down all the Amiibo that will have functionality with the game and what they can do. Here’s the breakdown:
Samus & Vi-O-La:
- You will be able to change the color of Viola.
- Every time you touch your amiibo, you can check Viola’s total distance traveled.
- Once per day, you can increase the rate at which Viola’s Boost Energy regenerates.
New Samus Amiibo:
- You can now change the background music when riding Viola in Solvalei.
- Once per day, you can activate a shield that will block up to 99 damage.
- When the shield is activated, Samus’s life is also restored to full.
Sylux:
- After clearing the game, you’ll be able to see the full versions of the cinematics that are shown in fragments throughout the game.
- Even if you don’t have amiibo, you can watch the full version by achieving a 100% scan rate and item collection rate.
- Every time you touch your amiibo, you’ll hear a random line from Sylux.
Oh, and if you have the Smash Bros Amiibo featuring Samus and Dark Samus, special in-game sounds will play when you tap them.
Metroid Prime 4 Beyond drops on December 4th for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
