In a world where price increases are the norm for gaming consoles, Sony has decided to use the Black Friday shopping period to actually try to sell its consoles, by providing a major discount to all three versions of the PlayStation 5 just in time for the holidays. Although Sony just announced at their most recent earnings call that they’ve now sold through over 84 Million PS5’s. The electronics company is determined to sell even more during this heightened shopping season.
According to the PlayStation Blog, starting Friday November 21, for a “limited time” the PlayStation 5 Digital 825GB console will be available as part of a Fortnite Flowering Chaos bundle which includes 1000 V-Bucks and exclusive PlayStation content for $399.99 (USD). Thus bringing the digital edition back to its original launch price. The base 1TB PS5 will come down to $449.99 (USD) as part of the same Fortnite bundle. Even the most powerful edition of the PS5 is getting a price drop as the PlayStation 5 Pro will sell for $649.99 (USD) on its own. Certain regions will also see $100 price drops for the Digital and Base PlayStation 5’s as well.
Undoubtedly, Sony loves their accessories as they are consistently introducing new ones, such as a 27 inch gaming monitor at their most recent Sony Japan State of Play. So, its no surprise that there would be sales on various accessories as well sans the bundle.
The PlayStation VR2 is $100 off, the PlayStation Portal is $20 off, the PlayStation 5 controllers also see price drops too with the Edge controller getting a $30 price drop, while the Dualsense and Access controllers each receive a $20 price cut as well. Don’t forget about those all important listening tools. The Pulse Explore earbuds see a $30 sale, while the Pulse Elite headset is $20 off.
Of course, what would a major sale be without the games getting discounts too? Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Lost Soul Aside, Astro Bot, and God of War Ragnarök are just some of the marquee titles on sale during the Black Friday deal.
So, whether you are picking up a PlayStation 5 for the first time, or already own the console and are just looking to pick up more games, need an extra controller, or perhaps are intrigued by the PS Portal, there’s something in this big sale for everyone.
