Pokemon Pokopia Drops Expansive Gameplay Trailer

Are you ready to build your Poke-World?

Pokemon Pokopia

2026 is going to be a key year for the Nintendo Switch 2, and we’ve already gotten confirmation on some of the games that will arrive for it in the exclusive sense. One that was recently dated was Pokemon Pokopia, the title that’ll mix the world of Pokémon with franchises like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and other franchises of that nature. However, today, The Pokémon Company dropped a special trailer further breaking down everything that you’ll get to experience in the game, and there’s more to enjoy here than you might think.

First and foremost, like certain “mainline” titles, you’ll have a “Professor” to interact with as the “human Ditto” character. The twist is that the “Professor” is a Tangrowth! It lived alone on the island that you start out on, and after he meets you, he asks for your help with revitalizing it, so that Pokémon might return to it!

That’s where your job begins. You’ll start by breathing life back into the place, meeting new Pokémon that arrive as you do, and then learning abilities from them so you can do even more growth, expansion, building, and more. A key reveal here is that you’ll actually work with your Poke-Partners to create various things, including buildings, and in a new twist, you’ll get to transform into other Pokémon like Lapras and Dragonite!

By doing so, you’ll get to visit even MORE lands that you can cultivate and transform into something special. Pokemon Pokopia also has you doing “requests” for these pocket monsters, whether it’s making things for them, guiding them to new parts of the island, or even rescuing them from places they can’t escape!

Still not enough for you? Thanks to GameShare and the online features, you can enjoy 4-person co-op! That includes being able to share the game with those on the Switch 2 and the OG Switch!

Finally, the game revealed that there will be some all-new variants of classic Pokémon in the game, including a new version of Pikachu named Peakychu, and then a variant of Snorlax named Mosslax. It makes you wonder what other variants might show up when the game arrives on March 5th, 2026!
