Brie Larson Speaks Out On Landing Rosalina Role

Yeah, she's happy to have the role.

Brie Larson, Rosalina, Super Mario Galaxy Movie

It’s been an interesting 24 hours for Mario fans, as early on Wednesday, we got the first trailer for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and in it was the big reveal that Rosalina would indeed be in the film (as she should be!) and that she would be voiced by none other than Brie Larson! The reason that this is significant is that she’s a HUGE Nintendo fangirl, and has even helped promote their consoles officially and unofficially in the past. So, yeah, she was going to be a Nintendo character in a movie sometime; it was just a question of when.

A cool thing has emerged from this reveal, and it’s that Brie Larson posted a video that she recorded back in May, long before the movie got announced, and in it, she was at Super Nintendo World, revealing that she had been cast as Rosalina and that it was a “dream come true” for her. Check out the video below:

“Hello, everyone! so I just want to hold this day in our hearts. Today is May 21st (..) I wanted you to hear from me first that I am going to be in the next Super Mario movie; it's called Super Mario Galaxy and I play Rosalina.… pic.twitter.com/lDrEEJH14J

Yeah, she’s happy to have the role, and we’re happy for her! The movie drops next April, and we’ll definitely get some more spotlight on Brie’s performance as we draw closer.
