Trails In The Sky 2nd Chapter Confirmed For 2026 From Nihon Falcom

Trails fans like me like to keep tabs on Nihon Falcom’s financial and shareholder meetings. Earlier today, at the financial meeting with Nihon Falcom, they showed us why: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter is confirmed to be a release within the next fiscal year. If you take a look at the translated text of the chart below, you will see the entire game list Nihon Falcom has planned for next fiscal year.

Right from the get-go, we have Ys vs. Trails in the Sky Alternative Saga. That was released already, since we are now in the upcoming fiscal year. Nihon Falcom’s fiscal year starts October 1st, 2025, and runs till September 31st, 2026. The next title on the list is Trails Beyond the Horizon. That is slated for January 15th, 2026. NIS America will be publishing the title globally. The self-published Japanese version is already available in Japan.

The next title to be released is Ys Memoire: Revelations in Celceta. This will be published globally by Marvelous USA and XSeed Games. Though it will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive. Likely timed. The current trajectory is that this game will be released in early 2026. Still no full release date, but you can pre-order it physically on the Marvelous USA website.

This next game on the list is new information, but it is for an already released game, Ys X: Proud Nordics. Ys X: Proud Nordics is on Nintendo Switch 2 already. It is coming globally to PC and PlayStation 5 in early 2026. It is being published by NIS America.

This next game on the list is the one that set the Trails fandom on fire. Many were debating on if the next game Nihon Falcom was focused on was Kai 2 or the Trails in the Sky SC remake. This confirms that the next game Nihon Falcom will be releasing in that debate is Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter. Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter was released globally just two months ago. Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter doesn’t have a release time frame other than it will be in the fiscal year. That means it will be before September 31st, 2026. Gungho wasn’t confirmed to be the global publisher, but I can’t imagine Nihon Falcom trying to work with another company to get Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter published.

The last game on this list is essentially the next Tokyo Xanadu game is kind of in limbo. Tokyo Xanadu fans are the ones who really suffer under the Nihon Falcom arm. They do mention in their financial statement, though, that they are planning new games and titles to come out, too. Alongside still working on Ys and Trails games.

Again, I am sorry, Tokyo Xanadu fans, they don’t even mention you alongside their IPs on the final slide. I am sure it is still in the works, but the priority shift is below Ys games and Trails games.

So what is the takeaway from this meeting? Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is on its way; we just have to be patient. Kai 2 will probably be in the fiscal year afterwards. We will just have to wait.
