Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls 2nd Closed Beta Forthcoming

By Kevin KellyNovember 12, 2025
Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls is coming with a new beta

Arc System Works brought out a new trailer for Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls to announce the second beta, with Spider-Man and Ghost Rider being the stars of the show.

Spider-Man seems to have a web trap that he can use to snare opponents. He can tag another character in to take advantage of the situation and set it up. Ghost Rider has a ground move hits the opponent from far distances.

Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls is going full X-Men on the next two stages. Could this be Arc System Works nodding to X-Men: The Animated Series since 97 has a new season dropping?  The prehistoric Savage Land, in which we already seen at the Tokyo Game Show this year, will be in this demo. Battles will cross between the Primeval Jungle to Ka-Zarr’s Tree House. Nothing intensifies a fight more than a T-Rex in the background.

The X-Mansion is the next new stage. This stage is home of the X-Men. Gambit, Beast, Colossus, Ice-Man, Archangel, Psylocke, and Professor X, are watching the brawls, yet seem to be interchangeable during different times.

This could possibly hint that more roster adds are forthcoming or Arc System Works has some ideas that are not fleshed out yet fully. The stage doesn’t seem to have multiple break points like both New York and Savage Land did. The X-Mansion will be changing alot, as stated at the State of Play.

The X-Men are usually the popular additions to Marvel fighting games, so we would be remissed to assuming that we will not see the likes of Wolverine not making the “cut”.  Surprisingly, he has yet to appear in this game.

A strange observation is that a Sentinel, a robotic henchman designed to capture and wipe out mutants, is walking around in the background unchecked. In fact, there are three of them in the left corner of the stage going around. Are they and the X-Men on good terms or just practice dummies?

At the State of Play this week, the trailer also announced that this will be an endless beta during the period. Unlike the original beta that came out in September, there will be no maintainence interruptions whatsoever.

Lobbies can also sport CPU offline battles. New costumes within the lobby will be coming such as Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, and the variant Black Symbiote Spider-Man. Unfortunately, there has not been an announcement for a training mode to come. As some content creators have done, jimmying the Tutorial can help with that.

For those who were invited to the first beta, they are already invited to this one with no need to re-register. The 4 v 4 party starts on December 5th and runs to December 7th. Signups are now live at the PlayStation beta site.

No release date has been announced for Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls, but the game is slotted to be released in 2026 on PlayStation 5 and PC.
