The reason that this is so cool is that you could argue Animal Crossing New Leaf was where the franchise really took off. While it was a big hit on the GameCube, it wasn’t until the New Leaf on the 3DS that it started the trend of being a “big franchise” that you didn’t just play, but played for a LONG time. This game allowed you to have a village to run as its new mayor, and there were all sorts of seasonal events and content that kept people coming back for more. Plus, there was the online component that allowed players to welcome up to three other players to their town, play mini-games with them, and even share messages through the Nintendo 3DS.
The game sold over 13 million units, and it’s still praised by gamers to this day. So, if you’re feeling nostalgic for the game, jump onto Nintendo Music and enjoy the beloved soundtrack.
