Who doesn’t love the holidays? Okay, I’m sure SOME OF YOU don’t, which is fine. However, for those of you who do like the holidays, many of you are likely looking forward to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is a classic tradition on Thanksgiving morning. There are so many amazing floats and balloons that are at the event, and that includes some classic video game characters! And yes, one of them is Mario, who has been a part of the parade for many years. However, for the 40th anniversary of the character’s franchise, his balloon is getting an upgrade.
As revealed by Nintendo, a new balloon will debut at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and you can see it below:

Adding to this, Nintendo had a press release for the new balloon and Devon Pritchard, EVP of Revenue, Marketing & Consumer Experience at Nintendo of America. had this to say on the matter
“Having Mario join this iconic holiday tradition is an incredible way to honor the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Since he first emerged from a Warp Pipe, Mario has embodied our goal of bringing smiles to faces all over the world. We are excited for Mario fans of all ages to see his new balloon’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade debut.”
Oh, and the Macy’s parade crew got in on the praise, too. Jordan Dabby, producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade noted:
“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has long been a stage for the world’s most beloved characters, and this year we’re thrilled to partner with Nintendo to welcome a new Mario balloon to that tradition.”
So, when the parade arrives, be sure to look out for Nintendo’s prized mascot!
