NYCC 2025: Capcom Showcases Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, and More

Capcom Con

Resident Evil Requiem New York Comic Con

In a 90-minute panel at New York Comic Con yesterday, Capcom showed off several upcoming titles. Panelists shared info on Monster Hunter Stories 3, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Pragmata, and Resident Evil Requiem. The panel treated convention attendees to a host of trailers, screenshots, and even demo playthroughs. Let’s take a look at what Capcom had to share, shall we?

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections

Capcom shared two trailers for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections, as well as a look at some gameplay. The turn-based RPG sees players controlling a party of monster riders while exploring a fantasy world. The heroes form bonds with some monsters and battle others. Their story of monsters and men is set against a larger narrative of two warring nations.

Players will steps into the shoes (and atop the monsters) of the Ranger Corps, an organization entirely new to the Monster Hunter franchise. Founded by the mother of the protagonist, it’s in charge of investigating the “egg quartz” that has been discovered all across the land. Members and their mounts include Simon and Fawn, Eleanor and Angie, and Thea and Kagachi (and Pookie the Poogie). And of course Rudy, the Palico buddy, who rides with you.

Capcom told fans to keep an eye on their socials. Why? That’s where they’ll reveal a brand new trailer towards the end of this month.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 will arrive on March 13th, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Sasaki Ganryu in Onimusha Way of the Sword

Onimusha: Way of the Sword continues the Onimusha series. If you’re unfamiliar with the franchise, the last mainline game arrived in 2006. So fans of the fantasy-meets-Edo Japan series will have waited a while for this entry.

For the action-adventure game, Capcom had streamer and Onimusha fan FightinCowboy play a short demo. Set at Kiyomizu-dera, a real temple in Kyoto, the demo tasked him with cutting down various enemies as famed swordsman Miyamoto Musashi.

With Musashi’s Katana, players can parry or they attack directly. Parrying charges one meter that leads to a blazing state if you parry enough without getting hit. Similarly, dodging in succession without getting hit provides a special move of its own.

However, the hardest move to pull off is “Issen.” This finishing move, returning from the series, involves attacking right before an enemy does. It’s high-risk, high-reward. FightinCowboy wasn’t able to pull it off, but did manage to consistently parry instead. The demo did tease a new version of this mechanic called “Break Issen” in a pop-up before the boss battle against Sasaki Ganryu.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword releases in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Pragmata

We then got a look at Pragmata, a game I admittedly didn’t know much about before but am now intrigued by. Capcom shared some gameplay and screenshots for this one. Pragmata focuses on Hugh, an astronaut-adjacent human, and Diana, a child-like android.

In the action-adventure game, players can start shooting at robotic enemies immediately should they so desire. However, they can also hack enemies first using Diana to then do extra damage during said shooting. Hacking can disrupt enemy weapons, slow enemies down, and more. The hacks themselves involve completing a real-quick mini-game, which provides the desired result if done correctly.

In between missions, players return to “Shelter,” a hub area for upgrading weapons and abilities. The gameplay at New York Comic Con didn’t show off a ton of this. But the Capcom team assured folks that it will prove a big part of the full title.

The Capcom team did share some screenshots and design images of Hugh and Diana. Hugh wears a hefty astronaut-like suit. Meanwhile, Diana wears a blue coat. Capcom stressed that despite Diana being a blue android, Pragmata is not a Mega Man game. Sorry, Mega Man fans.

The team did show off new unique NYCC art of an area from the game reminiscent of Times Square. It had giant billboards and theater ads, but thankfully fewer aggressive Elmos.

Pragmata will arrive in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom closed off its panel with a look at Resident Evil Requiem. We got some descriptions of the protagonist and gameplay before seeing a demo. Requiem introduces a new protagonist to the series, Grace Ashcroft, a young FBI analyst. She has a sharp analytical mindset but finds herself in an “extraordinary situation.” And of course, there are zombies.

The gameplay consists of firearm combat, exploration, puzzle solving, and resource management. Par for the course for Resident Evil. Notably, however, the ninth mainline entry will be playable in either first-person or third-person. By a show of hands, most people attending the panel preferred third-person. But there were a few first-person fans as well. This included streamer and horror fan Suzi Hunter, who then played the demo in first-person.

The demo told Suzi to “Escape the Care Center.” Easier said than done. With the lights dimmed, a few people screamed when a large monster appeared on screen and proceeded to chase Grace around the hallways. The demo ended ominously, with Grace making it out of the ward she was trapped in just to get dragged back into the darkness by the creature. This analyst can’t catch a break. Will she make it out? Presumably, or this will be a short game. I wonder if anyone shows up to help her out…

Preorders for the horror game start on October 29th. A special Resident Evil franchise video will debut the same day.

Resident Evil Requiem will arrive on February 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Capcom at New York Comic Con

While folks will have to wait until 2026 for these games to arrive, those at NYCC can go hands on with demos for each of these titles. If you’re at the New York convention this weekend, you can check out Monster Hunter Stories 3, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Pragmata, and Resident Evil Requiem at the Capcom booth.
