TGS 2025: Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 Remastered Announced

By Kevin KellySeptember 28, 2025
Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: remastered

The final chapter of the Fatal Fury series before the Mark of the Wolves time jump just got a shadow drop by SNK. The 23-character romp was released today during the Tokyo Game Show 2025 special.  Right before the time jump, that is Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 attempted to bring out the best of the Fatal Fury series. Terry Bogard and the wolves take on a few new challengers at the end of the Geese Howard saga.  Rick Strowd and Li Xiangfei show up in Southtown ready to shake up the final confrontation. Every character is available, and surprisingly, so is Alfred.

Alfred, from Real Bout Fatal Fury: Dominated Mind, has also been seen in the gameplay.

One of the highlights of this re-release is the artwork from Shinkiro himself for the cover. Shinkiro was a former SNK artist who now dazzles with his hyper-realism for the likes of Street Fighter and Devil May Cry. Just seeing his work back on the cover pushes the momentum enough. It’s not to say that Shinkiro’s original art wasn’t enough. We did get this amazing cover art for the title. Every dog has its day, and Terry’s just got worse with this one.

Other features include:

  • 59 pieces from the gallery, such as pictures and media, will be included in the Gallery
  • A practice mode with record-and-replay run and a hitbox viewer
  • Rollback Netcode supported fights for smooth play
  • Tournament features such as elimination, double elimination, and round robin.

Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 Remastered will be a part of the Neo Geo Premium Selection Label, which is attempting to bring back classic SNK titles with modern care. Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 Remastered is only available for Steam thus far.
