It’s Saturday, and you know what that means. AEW Collision is back to give us a great show! With the return of Komander from injury and Eddie Kingston’s first TV show in a long time, this was going to be a guaranteed action-packed episode, and I’m so pumped to break it all down. So, let’s get right into the AEW Collision Recap!
We started off the vignettes from backstage. Danny and Daddy magic are going to go ham on each other. We also saw what Hayter and Julia had to say before their upcoming match. Komander is back with his buddy Hologram to reform their tag team Los Titanes Del Aire. But El Clon is hacking into Hologram and gave him migraines! Kyle Fletcher was able to take advantage by getting a few punches in before their encounter next Wednesday. Or will they have that match still, I wonder…?
The first match was between Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley, and Claudio Castagnoli vs Kyle O’ Reilly and Paragon. It started out with Deathriders methodically grinding down their opponents. Matt Menard was sleeping on the outside for a while because Claudio delivered his spine onto the LED ramp. Things picked up when the Backbreaker Messiah himself, Roderick Strong, got the tag. Garcia opted to avoid Menard like the plague, but with the help of Mox, he pinned him. Garcia is swimming in the Deathrider’s Kool-Aid. He’s in the knee-deep waters now.
We heard from Brody backstage. He’s had enough of the Don Callis’ Family shenanigans, so he called for a match next week between Josh Alexander and the ‘Money Marks’ Young Bucks vs Brodido and… Kenny Omega! Yes! I’m so excited to see Kenny back!
Next, we had a sudden squish match between Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir vs Rachel Ellering and Rosario Grillo. Rosario had a horrible injury a couple of years ago while on AEW. I’m glad to see him wrestle again. Perhaps Yoots and Shafir needed a team chemistry warm-up before their match next week. I’m also glad to see Rachel get some TV time. Marina submitted Rachel with Mother’s Milk.
After the match, Yuta cut a promo on Stat-Daddy and Darby. Does AEW have to remind the audience every week that Darby climbed Mt. Everest?
We then heard from Hangman and the OPPS Samoa Joe. They are hyping up the match for next week’s Dynamite big time. Those pesky Deathriders will have a handful to deal with next Wednesday.
The third match was between Max Caster and Anthony Bowens (not the Acclaimed) vs Swirl. This is a textbook case where we will find out “could they co-exist?” It’s obvious that The Swirl had more team chemistry. Max refused to tag Anthony. As he was about to walk out, Jerry Lynn instructed him to go back in the ring. Max and Anthony barely squeezed out a disjointed win. The crowd wanted the two to scissor. Did they do it? Of course not.
This was a fun match with surprising depth and time given to it. This is a slow burn you’ll want to pay attention to going forward.
Mother Wayne, Nick Wayne, and Kip Sabian were backstage, with Kip still crying about Luchasaurus, but Nick told him to forget it. Nick still wanted a piece of Christian. With Copeland gone for a while (see: he’s doing Hollywood stuff!!!), Christian Cage has to put his head on a swivel or else he’s a sitting duck.
Lexi interviewed TayJay about the women’s Tag Team titles and how badly they want them. It would be interesting to see if they were the inaugural champions. TayJay has been one of the true pillars (AEW lore reference!) of the potential AEW women’s tag division, and I definitely want to see them go far in the inevitable tournament that’s coming.
The next match was between The Outrunners and Dalton Castle vs KM, Corey Sparks, and Cowpoke Paul. It’s so nice to see Dalton back since his injury. I laughed when I spotted Jon Cruz as one of the boys.

Dalton made quick work of these jobbers with a Bangarang. This might have seemed like a “weird throwaway” on a stacked Collision, but trust me, this is something fans will enjoy for a long time. Plus, that’s another trio for the division!
The fifth match was for the TNT Championship between Komander and Kyle Fletcher. As I sound like a broken record tonight, I am glad Komander has come back from injury. He’s really good, as this match reaffirmed.
Kyle is a wrestling specimen. How many wrestlers have the size, quickness, and athleticism like he does? Oh no, Hologram was injured, and he wouldn’t make it for next week’s showdown. That’s a bummer for Hologram, but I think this is just to write him off to fix his knee.
Komander was winning over the crowd with his high-flying offense. But what goes up must go down. Kyle caught him and finished him off. Even still, it was an incredible match, and the crowd definitely loved it.
Backstage, Kyle still wants an opponent for next week’s anniversary special. Who will step up? It’s Orange Cassidy! He will take the place of Hologram. Hyped!
The next match was between Big Bill and Bryan Keith vs Eddie Kingston and Hook. What’s this? A Tornado Tag Team match? TK, you sly dog.
It was a hard-hitting match. This is what Eddie needed after the “low point” of his return at AEW All Out. I’m glad he was getting the reps to shake off the ring rust. Plus, he and Hook actually work well together. Where will this lead? We’ll find out!
Lexi interviewed The Bang Bang Gang’s Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson. They’re looking to expand their unit. What better way to keep it in the family by recruiting Ace Austin? I think that this was a wise move. Let’s hope we get to see more of them, especially Ace Austin. He’s only had one match in AEW so far!
The main event was between Julia Hart and Jamie Hayter. It would be their third encounter. Jamie was at a disadvantage with Skye Blue at ringside. Julia connected with her moonsault, but Jamie had her leg on the rope. This was a back-and-forth bout, but in the end, Jamie muscled her way to victory with a Hayterade.
Skye attacked Jamie after the match, but Queen Aminata came to help. The rest of the Triangle of Madness helped Julia get to safety. Jamie Hayter took to the mic and proclaimed that the only way to end things was in…Blood and Guts! Now that’s a way to end a show!
