Insomniac’s Wolverine Shows His Claws For The First Time At PlayStation’s State Of Play

After years of waiting, a massive leak, and more, Insomniac Games finally got a chance to show off their newest superhero game, Marvel’s Wolverine, at the PlayStation State of Play on September 24th, 2025.

What did surprise me slightly is that this first official look came in the form of an almost two-minute-long gameplay trailer. Of course, some of you may not be surprised given the unfortunate leaks suffered by Insomniac Games not too long ago.

However, I won’t be addressing any of that leaked information here. I, for one, am glad the developers have finally had the opportunity to give players a first look at gameplay in the way they see fit.

In the trailer, we get a monologue from Logan himself, voiced by Liam McIntyre, most well-known for his work on Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, though he’s better known to gamers as the voice of JD Fenix in Gears 4 and Gears 5. This is accompanied by what appears to be a combination of cutscenes and snippets of combat gameplay, without any HUD elements—for trailer purposes, I would assume.

The combat looks brutal and bloody, though perhaps a touch too quick for the animalistic Wolverine. Long-time comic fans will also be relieved to see confirmation of the iconic Yellow and Blue outfit, though we also see Logan fighting and traversing across rooftops in his casual clothes.

So, I would suspect that much like Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, there will probably be a litany of comic variant outfits to unlock. Right now, nothing is for certain, but we don’t have too long to wait before we find out more.

Marvel’s Wolverine launches on PlayStation 5 consoles in Fall 2026. Keep your eyes peeled and your claws sharp, as PlayStation has promised more information on Marvel’s Wolverine in Spring 2026.

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
